Our Christmas (not a) tree

As we knew we’d be traveling for Christmas this year and would be gone nearly two weeks, we didn’t want to buy a tree that would die while we were gone or put up a tree then have to take it down before the holidays.  But equally, I couldn’t stand not decorating for Christmas or getting to display all the ornaments we’ve accumulated from our travels the last couple of years together.  So I came up with an alternative.

The tree lights run along the back of the cabinet.  Adam ran string along the top of each shelf so I could hang some of the ornaments intermixed with all our Christmas favorite things.  I love it.
